Splits Challenge Week 2: Finding the Flow, Overcoming the Plateau, and Mini Milestones

We’re officially halfway through our 4-Week Splits Challenge, and this week was all about finding a groove, dealing with some frustrating plateaus, and surprising ourselves with small but meaningful wins. Valentina and I are back to share our progress, the struggles that had us questioning our flexibility goals, and the mindset shifts that kept us going.

Week 2 Check-In

Finding the Flow, Overcoming the Plateau, and Mini Milestones

Valentina’s Journal: : Week 2

Week two of the split challenge is behind me, and while I’d love to say it got significantly easier, the truth is—it’s still tough. However, I found that stretching right after a Pilates session made a real difference. My body was already warm, making it easier to ease into the movements rather than starting from scratch. On days when I tried stretching without any prior workout, everything felt stiff, and I could barely sink any lower. This week taught me that a little preparation goes a long way, and pairing stretching with another form of movement makes the process feel much more natural.

I also focused on slowing down and being more intentional with each stretch. Instead of forcing progress, I reminded myself to breathe through the discomfort and create space in my body with patience. And while I still have a long way to go, I noticed a small improvement—just enough to remind me that consistency pays off. The last few inches still feel impossible, but I know that flexibility isn’t built overnight.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned this week, it’s that progress isn’t always obvious in the moment—but it’s happening. Every stretch, every small shift forward is a step toward something bigger. So I’m reminding myself, and anyone else on this journey, to stay patient, stay consistent, and trust that the breakthrough will come.

Valérie’s Journal: Week 2

Puh, we made it to Week 2—congrats to everyone who stuck with us and continued stretching daily!
Looking back at Week 1, I have to admit, it was definitely tougher to get into the habit than I expected. But now, I’m really glad to have this challenge to hold me accountable. I hope everyone else is starting to feel the same sense of rhythm kicking in. I’m excited to keep going, and please keep sending us your progress pictures, we love seeing them!

This week, I finally got into the habit of taking 20 minutes out of my day to stretch—whether it’s right after waking up or in the evening after work. Giving myself this time has become more than just a way to work on flexibility. It feels like I’m releasing emotions stored deep in my hips, letting go of tension I didn’t even realize I was holding.

These sessions have turned into a peaceful pause in my day, where I can breathe deeply and focus on the present. There’s something calming about letting each breath guide me deeper into the stretch. I always finish feeling lighter, more grounded, and at ease.

Some stretches, like the downward fold, are starting to feel easier, which reminds me that even the smallest steps count. While the visible progress has been minimal, the way I feel afterward is enough to keep me going. I’m learning that patience, consistency, and mindfulness are what make the difference.

Key Takeaways from Week 2

💡 Stretching is becoming part of daily life: What started as a challenge is now slowly turning into a habit that fits naturally into our routines. It’s no longer about checking off a task—it’s about creating a mindful, restorative moment every day.

💡 Breathing unlocks deeper stretches: One of the biggest realizations this week is how much breathing helps. After about a minute of holding a stretch, the tension eases, and each breath allows us to go deeper without forcing it.

💡 Progress isn’t just about flexibility: While physical improvements are happening gradually, the mental benefits are just as important. Stretching has helped release tension, clear our minds, and leave us feeling calmer and more grounded.

💡 Small steps, big impact: Progress isn’t always visible day-to-day, but consistency is key. Whether it’s a slightly deeper stretch or simply feeling better afterward, every small win counts.

Week 2 reminded us that this challenge is about more than just splits—it’s a way to build patience, mindfulness, and resilience. Let’s keep stretching, breathing, and celebrating every step forward. 🌱✨
